Avatar Woes

October 25, 2007

Shhhh. Do you hear that? No? Try listening a little harder and should be able to hear something akin to this:

“BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!”

That, my friends, is the collective sounds of almost all of the Avatards who live in America and use the internet. They’re making this sound because our jolly neighbors from across the pond will be getting new episodes before us, and that’s just an affront to god (according to them). There is also the whole deal with how and when the episodes are getting uploaded. The person that uploads them first puts them on youtube and then uploads to one of the various file sharing websites. While youtube already makes for shitty videos, the Avatar episodes suffer from what has been dubbed “squish-o-vision”. This basically means that the sides of the video are pushed together, making it taller than it is wide. People also take the time to complain about how the person that uploads the episodes takes to provide them with a direct download link (The Avatar and the Fire Lord didn’t have one until several hours after it had be uploaded to youtube). I’m sure that you can understand that this all leaves some people with a very sour mood.

Now, while I can understand why everyone is complaining about this, I’m of the opinion that they should stop. Even though people are throwing constant bitch fits one kind soul is still taking the time to upload the episodes for us. I think that this person deserves a cookie, and a big one at that. Also, anyone who complains about the wait for the uploads should just go shoot themselves. Let just compare the waits between the uploads for the episodes and the wait for said episodes. By my calculations it would take weeks in the US for us to get the episode 10 of the third season, whereas we will have them completely uploaded by someone in Britain within the span of a couple days. To me, that doesn’t seem like such a bad deal.

Since I don’t want it to see like I’m rambling any more than I already am, I’m going to cut this short. If you did happen to read this (I’m sure that the lack of any pictures must make it completely unbearable for you) then I hope that you realize that you don’t really have much reason to be complaining as much as you do. Be honest, how many of you on here download the episodes of Avatar anyway? With that, I’m done.

  1. I agree, sure it’s small and squishy but the fact that these episodes are awesome makes up for that. I’m just glad they’re up at all. Besides episode 6 came out in a good quality torrent more or less the next day, so just go to bed and wake up to some great Avatar episodes.

  2. my issue is with them getting them all at once. and since I promised, that’s all I’m gonna say.

  3. ;~;

  4. I’m annoyed by them all coming out at once. Because it leaves me with an aggravating choice: Either watch them all now, and then have to wait a MONTH for more and miss out on watching it with my friend, or dodge spoilers left and right for a fucking MONTH, which is just not really an option at all.
